After flying for what felt like 100 hours, we made it to Singapore! I think this was taken before our last flight from Tokyo to Singapore:
I don’t look too awful yet. Ugh. We got into Singapore at around midnight, took showers, unpacked and passed out. We were so tired, but only slept until around 8:00 am. I didn’t want to go anywhere today, but J was up and adamant about heading out so I tagged along.
And I’m so happy I did! But first, this is the view from our room:
The hotel is pretty incredible and I love how they incorporated all the trees and plants. We headed out to just kind of wander around. It’s so humid here and we weren’t quite sure how long we’d last so we decided to head to the marina!
We didn’t have to walk very far before we saw the Marina Bay Sands hotel:
It’s a pretty awesome sight. It doesn’t even look real – even in real life. Our plan was to walk over and go to the top to see the view. And holy sh*t, it was so hot out. I thought I was going to sweat to death. Fortunately, there is a mall attached to the hotel that’s HUGE and you can walk through it (air conditioning!). It saved our lives. The mall is beautiful and has every high end store you could ever imagine.
You could even take a boat ride. #weird
We finally got to Ce La Vi – the restaurant at the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel – and the view was unbelievable.
The pool looked awesome, but we didn’t buy tickets to go there. Instead we went to the restaurant and ate this:
The fruit was so good and the added dry ice was hilarious. We got a lot of attention when they brought it out.
After that, we decided to head back to the hotel. All I could think about was taking a shower, but the walk back was actually pretty nice.
Singapore is a very clean city and there are a lot of green spaces. It’s very easy to get around and the food is great. I’m really looking forward to hanging out here for the next little while.
