The Countdown

I have less than the one week until I leave for Guatemala and I can’t quite believe that I’m going to be gone for a month.  And that I’ll be spending three weeks by myself.  Well, not by myself, but without G, Biff, Bing, and anyone else I know.  Weird.  It’s going to be very interesting to see how G does managing Biff while I’m gone.  That poor dog is with me all day, every day.  He’s my buddy.  And he’s very used to having me around.  I’m prepared to come home to a house (and furniture) that’s been completely destroyed.  I hope that doesn’t happen, but he may be a little stressed out.  And that f*cker is getting big.  And strong.  He’s over 66 pounds now and one ball of muscle.  Cuddly as hell, though.

I thought about doing one of those “day in the life” posts, but then you’d find out that I all I do is take naps and watch tv…oh right, and sometimes I work.

I’ve spent the last couple of weekends doing kid things.  Dance class for Kennedy and swim meets with Elijah.  If you’re new here, they are my niece and nephew.

I’m very happy I don’t have to do this every weekend, but it’s fun to see them learning new things.  And they still think I’m very cool so they’re always very happy when stop by.  Last weekend, I had to get Kennedy to dance class on Saturday.  Biff and I got to her house a little before 6:30 am and she was still asleep.  When she finally got up, I made her breakfast (macaroni and cheese…there are no rules when Auntie Marni visits), and she watched some weird bear cartoon on Netflix.

She insisted on eating it with her chopsticks.  And the dogs hoped and prayed for a major mac and cheese disaster.

Last night, I finally got together with a few friends to carve pumpkins.  We do this every year and I think we’ve gotten pretty damn good at it!

I carved the owl and I love it.  And yes, one friend carved the Ghostbusters logo.  How cool is that?!

And just in case you thought we’ve forgotten about Bing, we haven’t.

That little idiot sleeps with us every night.  So I have Biff sitting on me all f*cking day and Bing bothering me all night.  Have I told you how excited I am that I will be alone for a three weeks?

And just FYI, I’m planning to blog more often…especially while I’m away.  You’re welcome, or maybe I’m sorry.

What are you doing in Guatemala all without G? Pearl

    • G doesn’t have enough time off work so he’ll only be joining me for a week at the end of my trip. I will be learning Spanish all day, every day! And doing some sightseeing. Should be a pretty good adventure.

  2. Safe travels! Have a wonderful time. Hope you visit Seattle soon!
