I’m so happy to introduce you to Biff!
We adopted him yesterday (from Family Dogs New Life in Portland) and we’re madly in love. Well, not all of us. Bing is pretty p!ssed off about the situation, but all the humans love Biff. On Wednesday, it will be exactly 1.5 years since our little Jack passed away. We needed time to recover, travel a bit and relax before becoming dog parents again. It was a good break, but I really started to miss having a dog. I LOVE DOGS!
So Biff. He’s a pit-lab mix, five months old and about 35 pounds. He was homeless (so f*cking sad) and he’s from California. Just like his dumb dad! G wasn’t homeless, though, just from California.
Also, we named him Biff. Did you know that the name Biff is George’s #1 baby name for a boy?!!! Yes, let’s all count our blessings that we decided NOT to have kids. And if you’re wondering, Stacey and Jimmer were his 2nd and 3rd choices. I don’t mind Stacey, but JIMMER, what in the f*cking f*ck? That would not have worked out. I didn’t learn this until a few years ago…even though we weren’t having kids, it was almost a deal breaker. Whoa.
Okay, back to Biff. He is perfect. We’re crate training him and this is my new view from the bed.
He seems to be pretty content in there right now. Last night, though, I wasn’t so sure. After spending a few minutes crying like someone was getting murdered, I rubbed his little nose (through the crate) and he went to sleep. And he’s still in there almost 7.5 hours later.
He’s been sleeping pretty much the entire time we’ve had him. I think he’s had an exhausting few weeks so it will be interesting to see his real personality.
Let’s hope his personality does not include the “I want to murder cats” trait. At this point, he’s pretty ballsy and will bark at Bing when Bing is across the room. Bing does not like that. If they are near each other, Biff kind of freaks out and comes to me like “WHY IS HE LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?!” and “OMG, what is wrong with that monster?!” As soon as he understands that Bing could kill any of us at any time, all will be well.
Welcome to the family Biff!
Yay for Biff (which is a fabulous name, by the way!)! And it’s good that he’s sleeping well because he’ll need lots of rest once you start making him do your hearings….
So true. He’s doing a great job with my opening statement so it’s only a matter of time.
Jimmer…..like Jimmer Fredette? That’s not even a name…
I have no idea. I totally agree.
