Three months and still working my part-time job!! I must say I’m pretty proud of myself and I honestly can’t believe I haven’t been fired for being a no call, no show. It helps that I like most of the people I work with and there’s no stress. The most inconvenient part is having to put on makeup and do my hair 5 days/week and wear the uniform…oh and the fanny pack. Yes, a fanny pack. Don’t be jealous.
Otherwise, things have been pretty much the same. George is working nights and doing a bit of work as an extra on the new tv show Librarians. I honestly don’t know the last time we had an entire day off together so that’s a little bit perfect sad. Fortunately, we have a short trip planned at the end of the month and a long vacation planned in September. I can hardly wait.
In the meantime, I’ve started a sewing project:
I’ve cut out all the pieces and pinned two pieces together. The one issue? I need a sewing machine. Or a better one. I’ll keep you posted on that.
I’m drinking a f*ckton of coffee.
I didn’t start drinking coffee until a couple of years ago and now I can’t live without it.
My new favorite snack:
Carrots, hummus and tomatoes with salt and pepper. Or an entire cake. Thankfully, I rarely have cake around.
Oh and I’ve made this recipe for Mexican Stuffed Peppers with Quinoa and Black Beans a couple of times in the last few weeks.
Once with green peppers and once with red peppers. I liked the red peppers better, but they were both good. And really easy to make.
Oh and have I mentioned that we’re renting out our 3rd bedroom? So we’re getting ready for that. I thought it would be a good way to make some extra money and we’re barely home. We knew someone looking for a place and it just seemed to work out. Here’s to hoping we don’t kill each other!!
And since I have a couple of free hours each week, this is finally happening:
Yep, I’m taking Spanish lessons!! I had my very first lesson today and I really enjoyed it. I’m taking private lessons so it’s a lot different than when I took French in high school and college. And I’m forcing a few of my part-time job coworkers to tutor me when we’re at work (no, they don’t have a choice). Right now, though, they’ve only taught me very inappropriate curse words. I did not share my knowledge of curse words with my Spanish teacher. I know, I’m surprised too.
HAPPY JUNE!!!
You are funny and should have a reality show. I’d rather watch you than the Kardashians.
Thank you!!! I wish I had a reality show.
I use that book in my Spanish classroom! It’s better than the the textbook for grammar. Suerte….I have other stuff on my website at ogimachi.net; just click on my “Spanish Classes…” I like to upload goofy YouTube videos there, too. Let me know if you need any help. tonieogi@me.com. Your mom knows me.
Oh thank you!! Yes, my Mom’s told me all about you…I will definitely check out your website!
