Last Friday, I invited my siblings (and their families) over for a little surprise. You see, at the end of the month, it’s my dad’s birthday!!! And we rarely get to celebrate his birthday with him so I thought we should throw a little surprise party.
My dad, Jon and Carlos had dinner plans on Friday night so I told my brother and sister to be over at around 7:45 pm. I picked up a beautiful bundt cake:
Nice, right??? I love that Nothing Bundt Cakes came to Oregon!!
I even wrapped a present!
Don’t be jealous of my wrapping paper…or my card. Spoiler alert: we gave him a pair of Sperry Topsiders!!!
And then the people came:
Kaz still hates George, but Kennedy thinks he’s okay.
As luck would have it, everyone got there on time. Except for my dad. Their dinner went long and they didn’t get home until after 9:00 pm! So we all stood around and stared at each other:
And watched the frosting start to melt:
The good news is that when they finally got home, it was so dark, my dad didn’t even notice all the cars parked out front!
We turned off most of the lights and waited:
And then dad walked in:
He was surprised…
and maybe a little weary???
Just to mix things up a bit, the cake was red velvet!!
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!
You are making me want red velvet!!!
Did you know Nothing Bundt Cakes is Kosher???? We get cakes there all the time. Your officially an honorary Jew
I’ve been trying to be an honorary jew for years. All my hard work has finally paid off!!
