Unfortunately, George was scheduled to work on our anniversary…from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm.  WTH?!!  Work ruins everything.

Anyway, we decided to have a low-key celebration and divide it up over a couple of days.  On Saturday night, we went to the movies!!

We saw World War Z (and loved it) and gorged on popcorn and frozen mud pie:

We even managed to share without threatening to stab each other’s eyes out with our forks…or drawing a line down the pie.  I know, we were super romantic.

Then yesterday we went to breakfast!

When we first dated, we always went out to breakfast because George worked nights.  Our first date was breakfast.  I know, so romantic again!

And we ate so much food!

I loved the avocado on my scramble.  And as an anniversary gift, I gave George my syrup.  Fun fact: he needs double the syrup and I prefer to eat my pancakes plain.  Guess it works out.  And yes, we ate all that food.

As usual, I ordered the top of our wedding cake for us to eat.  I love that I do this every year.  We really didn’t get to eat enough of the cake at our wedding.

Instead of going after the cake with our forks (like we normally do), I actually cut pieces for us <— I’m getting so fancy!

George loves the German Chocolate cake with the German Chocolate filling so I get that every year.  I might try something new next year, but I think I say that every year.

After stuffing our fat faces, George went to work and I had to go to work…you know, my part-time, unpaid job as babysitter for this monster:

It was pretty uneventful, but it was fun and we ate cake!  Who doesn’t like that?!
