After doing a couple of posts about my new gorgeous niece, a few people have expressed some concern about whether my sister’s a complete whore!! And while I did call her a slut, I’m 100% sure, Kennedy is Jamison’s kid.
And I understand that it might be confusing to see that these two people:
(Aren’t they cute?!!)
Had a baby that looks like this:
But it’s pretty common that black babies (or half-black babies) are born with fair skin and develop a darker skin tone in the few months after they’re born. I don’t have a source for this information, I just talked to some black people (including George and Jamison and Jamison’s mom).
Anyway, Kennedy is officially one week old and she’s already developing a much more beautiful (and tan) skin tone. Unfortunately, I think that means she won’t be vampire-looking like her incredible Aunt Marni.
Sad.
Here are a few pictures from the last week, in chronological order:
The last picture was taken today and I think you can totally tell that her head is getting darker. When I saw her last weekend, her little, tiny ears were turning brown. Just adorable.
So there you go. I hope that helped clear up some questions and I’ll keep you posted on Kennedy’s changing skin tone. I must admit that I’m a little jealous because I’ve tried to change my skin tone for years. I’ve only been able to achieve two colors: white and lobster red. Not attractive.
Are you kidding me? Anyway, this is just one of my four beautiful biracial children. See pix.
She is beautiful!!!
She is absolutely beautiful! Congrats on being an aunt again! All ethnic babies, including other ethnicities tend to be born lighter and become darker as they get older, I can’t believe people would ask that. Mind = blown over that one, hahahaha.
Marni, to correct you just a bit…..that is pasty white and red rash.
Kellen was born light, too 🙂
Btw, you and G should test it out!
She’s darling, love love love all that hair!
