Prego Chicks Are Funny

Now, I apologize if you’re all tired of hearing about my sister’s pregnancy, but too bad.  I think it’s fascinating and hilarious.

Remember when Em looked like this:

That was in June for little Kai’s birthday…Em was only a few months pregnant and Tomoe was getting ready to explode.  (BTW, I love that I have a different hair color in that picture.)

Anyway, this is Em’s first kid so she really doesn’t know what to expect.  Today, she called me at work to tell me she was feeling horrible and everything was hurting.

She said “I feel like my back is going to come out my butthole.”  That was the best thing I heard all day and I had to write it down.  I also shared it on Twitter.  She also said that the lightning bolts shooting into her crotch have turned into a full on storm.  Cool.  As you can see, Em has a very different way of describing things happening to her body.

Fortunately, I am planning to be present at the birth…in the room.  I’m so excited and I’m planning to do a birth story post too.  I know everyone does these, but it’s rarely from the perspective of a crazy person, who has no intention of ever giving birth (unless I’m paid a lot of money) and who thinks most body parts are gross.

This is going to be fun!

I totally cannot wait to hear about your sister’s birthing story for your point of view. It will be classic. Tell your sis I’ve been there, done that. My son was almost three weeks late! I was ready to burst! And my feet have never regained their proper size, either. They’ve remained a full size larger (or else my shoes have gotten smaller).
    Hugs to all,

I’m not sure if I’ll be brave enough to read your candid report of the birth or not, since I’ll be going through it as well and not as an observer! Mmmm, I have lots to look forward to!

Your smart never to have kids. Don’t let all the parents tell you any different. People love their kids but are never truthful about it because it is not politically correct to say.
