Yesterday, G and I left South Jesus pretty early so we could go rafting. G was pretty excited because he was hoping he’d get to wear a lot of floaties…like when we went to aqua jogging.
Remember when he almost drowned? Good times.
Anyway, we got up really early and headed out. After being on the road about 5 minutes, the freeway came to a complete stop. And people were getting out of their cars. It took us a minute and then we realized that a big building was about to get blown up!
That’s the old paper mill. It was shut down a few years ago and they’ve been tearing it down little-by-little over the last year or so. And yesterday, they blew it up.
We weren’t actually that close…here’s a picture without using the zoom
G was pretty excited about it.
I was still trying to wake up.
This was a pretty big event and there were camera crews and people that set out lawn chairs and blankets to watch the poor building get blown up.
And it was kind of sad to see it crumbled to pieces as we drove by…
So sad.
Fortunately, within a few hours, G was dressed like this:
And I was ready to laugh my ass off (at him) the entire day.
You should come out to my drilling project… I’m sure we can get you into some sort of trouble out there 🙂
I saw that on the news this morning! Apparently I haven’t been down I-5 in awhile because I didn’t even know they shut down that stinky place 😉 Wonder who will end up buying that land once they’re done cleaning it up….
