On Saturday it was our 6th wedding anniversary. We rarely buy gifts for each other and this year was no different. We had plans to get massages, go out to dinner and eat cake.
No one has to tell George to relax.
He pretty much makes himself at home wherever he is.
I was just thankful I wouldn’t have to touch G for the next hour.
We didn’t take any pictures of us in our cool robes, but here are a couple favorites from last year:
After our massages, we were supposed to go out to dinner. But I was feeling so lazy relaxed, the last thing I wanted to do was go to dinner. Instead of going out, WE PICKED UP THAI TAKE-OUT!
This was an excellent idea because we went home, sat on the couch and ate. And ate. And ate. Basically, a perfect night for us.
AND WE EVEN HAD CAKE!
I usually order the same cake we had at our wedding, but I didn’t have time to get to Portland to pick it up. I ended up ordering a cake from the grocery store and had them make it look kind of like our wedding cake.
It totally worked and was about half the price. Party time!!
I’m also proud to say that we ate the entire thing! I know, I should be embarrassed, but I’m not. It was good. I got half and G got half.
And no one ended up in a diabetic coma.
Sounds like a great tradition. My hubby and I enjoyed half a key lime pie one night and the other half the next night. With four kids, it was nice not to share.
Super important question: what flavor cake/frosting?
White cake, white frosting and a raspberry filling. We are boring and it was fabulous.
I had such a great time on our anniversary. I can’t wait to celebrate our next one. Love you.
That is boring. But cake is cake!!! A friend of mine just recently said that we were carb whores, so of course I would feel that way.
Congrats on your Anniversary and your amazing run!! Your cake looks delicious. Love Steve’s birthday gift. The photo is both awkward and funny!
