On May 28, 2012, I started the Runner’s World Summer Running Streak.  The goal is to run 1 mile every day between Memorial Day and 4th of July.  And guess what?



It really helped that I signed up for so many races this month (3 weekends in a row).  That horrible picture was taken at the 10k I did on June 9th.  And yes, my hips aren’t lying…at all.  Wow.  Apparently, I was very serious about getting to the finish line too.

Today will be day 24 of the 38 day streak.  There have been a few late night runs, but I’ve been pretty good about not procrastinating until 10 minutes before the gym closes.  I know, I’m proud of myself too.  Are you still running?

  1. Good for you, girl! I’m on day 19. I decided after my ultra that I wanted to forgo distance for a little while. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be – and I’ve learned to love running in the rain! And I found I’m runnin just about the same number of miles most weeks, even without a monster long run. Go streak! I wrote about it on my blog a few weeks back, too.

    Still running even though my streak has technically busted, I’m trying to hang in there until July 4!
