Don’t worry, this is not a post about my job…or yours. This is about what we do (or don’t do) when we’re not working. Basically, G and I don’t do anything. If we’re not working and don’t have plans with friends or family, we do nothing. Well, we watch TV. We are TV addicts. But I don’t think that counts as actually doing something.
Last weekend, when Toya was visiting…
she asked, “do you guys do anything?” This was on Friday afternoon. She’d been here for a little less than 24 hours. We had already had pizza (the night before), gone to get her hair done, gone to the grocery store for baking supplies and we were about to head to Red Robin for dinner. For me, that was kind of busy for a day off. I mean, I didn’t even get to take a nap.
I thought about it a little and told Toya that we don’t do anything. We just watch TV…right now we’re watching the playoffs (George is still trying to figure out how he can marry one of the players) and catching up on the Orange County and New Jersey Housewives series. I also read some books, bake a little, eat a lot, go to the gym and take naps. George just eats and goes to the gym.
Is that boring? I don’t mind if it is…I like it. I’ve had enough stressful and way too busy times in my life, and I love having nothing to do. However, I know if we had kids, I would be a lot busier (G’s life would probably stay about the same…seriously).
But I’m wondering…is this the norm or are we total weirdos? What you do when you’re not working?
What do you do that’s not kid-related and something that you do on a regular basis when you have no real plans? I’d love to know!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR STEP-SISTER, LAURA!
I’ve known her since I was around 11 years old and she was a bridesmaid for me almost 6 years ago!
Here’s one of my favorite pictures of Laura and Emily at our wedding:
You can’t turn your back on those two.
WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST LAURA!!
I spend my “free” time watching every trashing thing on TV I possible can. It’s ridiculous. My friends don’t even ask what I’m doing when I’m not with them. They just assume my ass is planted on the couch watching TV. 99% of the time they’re right. Oh well. : )
I love it…and good for you!!!
What do I do when I’m not working? Your mom, of course.
Best response ever.
I definitely watch a lot of tv or red box movies…or I read. That’s all.
