Like a Drug Deal

As you know, I work from home and occasionally go into the office in Salem.  However, my employer also has other locations in Oregon and sometimes, people transfer around a bit.  Recently, one of my coworkers, Pam, moved from the office in Salem to the office in Eugene.

And it was not long before I received an email from someone in Eugene inquiring about my baking skills.  Apparently, Pam was promoting my baking in the office.  For a food pusher like me, I was thrilled and this gave me an opportunity to do some baking.  I thought I’d bake up a crowd pleaser and very simple recipe, Toffee Gooey Butter Cake.  The last time I made this, I made it for my Salem coworkers!

Just to recap, here are the ingredients (and vanilla):

And look at the bottom of the pan:

So cute and a nice little surprise.

After throwing everything together…

I put it in the oven and decided to create a card.

As you can see, Bing wanted to help.

Okay, well, it’s not really a card, but it works.  And then the cake was done!

The only issue?  I am not working today and I rarely drive to Eugene.  Thus, I had to find transportation for the cake.  I ended up recruiting Pam for some help.  Because she drives from Salem to Eugene every day, we decided to meet somewhere along the way.  This is also where it kind of became like a drug deal because we decided to meet at a Denny’s located right on the I-5 freeway.

That also means that Pam was kind of like a drug mule.  Sorry Pam.

The ONLY good thing about my last surgery was your baking… I’m at the hospital now and really hoping you’ll bring over more treats:-)

That cake looks amazing! If I start bragging to my co-workers about your blog and baking, think a cake will appear at our office?
