The last time I got my hair done, my hairstylist told me I should look up hairstyle tutorials on YouTube because I have such long hair and I would be able to do a lot with it. I kind of feel like I waste my long hair because I don’t really wear that many styles…usually only straight, curly or thrown on the top of my head. So a few days ago, I started looking. I came across the LuxyHair ladies. OMG, these chicks are talented and gorgeous…so naturally, I hate them. I’m not kidding.
I found their tutorial for a Quick and Messy Bun and thought I could totally do it. Here are the results:
Thanks for the photobomb, Jack.
I thought it looked most round from the top and the sides. Looking at it straight-on, it looked a bit boxy so I’ll have to work on it.
Overall, it was an easy style. I quickly learned that it worked best to tease my hair a lot. I’ve never been a big teaser (a tease, yes…a teaser, no) so that took me a little while to get the hang of. This is also a good hairstyle for dirty hair. I hadn’t washed my hair since Friday (the picture was taken Monday night) so it worked pretty well.
It is also an excellent hairstyle to wear when you’re sitting on the couch, wearing sweats and blogging. Sexy.
That looks great! I miss having long hair, but mine is just so thick… when it’s long, I can’t do anything with it. It just turns into a giant ball of split-ended frizz. So now I just have a slightly smaller ball of split-ended frizz.
Hawt 😉 I’m the same way, my hair is either down or just in a ponytail. I’m so boring!
As long as you don’t cut your hair; you can rock any “do” & still be beautiful!
I’m diggin that headband. Where can I get one? I mean, when are you sending me yours?
Wal-to-the-Mart! It was the only one I could find that looked similar to the one on the video.
Hey-
I found a really easy bun that looks great…google “The Sock Bun”. You literally roll your hair up in a sock and it looks really cute. I do this on my daughter. And bonus, if you roll it when it’s wet and sleep on it, you will have beautiful curls the next morning! There are tutorials on it as well.
I did a post about the sock bun!!!
omg, how did I miss that??! Your curls turned out great!
Thank you!! They were a little big, but it totally worked well.
thanks for the tip! I wore my hair like this on Friday and everyone at work loved it! I had to give them all a tutorial!
That is so cool!
