Time for a mileage/workout update. One goal I have for 2012 is to run/bike/swim/elliptical/do whatever for 800 miles.
And I’m happy to report that in January I ran 60.49 miles (including a half marathon!!), biked 6.25 miles and ellipticalled 0.5 miles (<—wow that machine is boring).
Total miles: 67.24
Pretty cool and, at that rate, I’ll hit almost 807 miles for the year!! I’m also trying to incorporate some weights into my workouts so we’ll see how that goes.
I’m not quite sure what I’m doing in that picture. It was taken after my first 8 mile run and I think I was delirious.
So far, so good for 2012.
Also, on February 11, 2012, I will participate in the virtual run for Sherry Arnold. Sherry was killed while she was out for an early morning run in Montana. A horrifying story that could have happened to anyone. I’ve followed all of SUAR’s posts about the tragedy (she’s Sherry’s cousin) and I would love to run in Sherry’s honor.
If you would like to run in honor of Sherry, you can find all the details and print out a bib here.
Run/walk/bike/elliptical/swim ON!!!
Are you using anything fancypants to track your miles?
Nope, I just write it down on my monthly calendar after my workouts…I’m sophisticated like that.
Baller status. All day, every day.
I’m doing the virtual run too.
Way to kick ass in January!!
800 miles is a great goal. My wife is walking in the 40 mile Breast Cancer walk. She has easily waked 80 miles in January. I’ll ask her If she can reach 800
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now (yes, I prefer to lurk instead of comment – I’m not nearly as witty as you!) and I live up in Portland. I’m planning to do the virtual run for Sherry as I’ve been a huge fan of SUAR (and SR too) and I’m all for supporting Beth and her fam. I was thinking if there were enough of us in the Willamette Valley that want to run it, it might be fun to put together a group to run together? I was planning to run the Waterfront/Eastbank Esplanade so that I’d get lots of attention (and subsequently embarrass myself) and its only a 5k so I know I won’t die. I haven’t run “competitively” in a couple years, I prefer to bust a move at Jazzercise 😉 But, its for a good cause so I’ll dust off my compression gear and pound the pavement!
That is such a good idea! Maybe I’ll do a post about it asking if peeps are interested. Thanks for commenting!!
