I recently started making my own creature treats when Kristy told me she makes her own dog treats. I decided I couldn’t be outdone by that loser so I had to make my own too.
I whipped up a batch yesterday. I used this recipe that only requires 3 ingredients (4 if you count water as an ingredient…I don’t).
I only made 1/2 a batch because I didn’t have enough flour and I didn’t want to go to the store. Jack loves peanut butter so this is a good recipe for him. He also loves cat sh*t, but I don’t have a recipe that includes that as an ingredient…sorry Jack.
Anyway, I mixed up flour, oats, peanut butter and water.
Put the dough on a board, rolled it out and used my new cookie cutter to make pretty creature treats for Jack.
I threw those bad boys in the oven for 40 minutes and continued to watch Jersey Shore with G (we are behind on our episodes).
There was a little ball of dough leftover that was too small to make into a treat so I gave it to Jack.
After 40 minutes in the oven the treats were done.
I took one off the sheet for Jack, turned off the oven and put the rest back in the oven until the morning. I don’t know why, but this is what the directions say to do.
Jack loves them…and is now hoping that we get him one every time we go into the kitchen.
Greedy bastard.
Peanut butter??? I thought that was on the “bad list” for dogs… wow, who knew… I’m going to give it a try… where did you get that cute cookie cutter?
Got the cookie cutter at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft…99 cent, I think.
You are such a good mom! Jack is so lucky! My cooper never gets anything homemade but maybe I will have to change that and try this!
That is one lucky dog! I’m cracking up over the cat shit comment … Murray is a shit eater too! I’ll have to step it up and make him homemade doggie cookies one of these days. Maybe if he experiences the PB bliss, he’ll realize shit doesn’t taste good!
I was hoping someone would say something about the cat sh*t…glad Murray also has very high standards for snacks.
Jack is a lucky dog! I am going to make these for Bentley!
