I drove up to Portland yesterday for a holiday get-together with friends. However, I had a stop to make on the way. This was a stop I was dreading and really questioning my sanity for attempting.
I told myself to remain calm and patient because I was heading to the Woodburn outlets on a Saturday afternoon in December. This is basically against my religion. Normally, I would have gone first thing in the morning, but I didn’t want to drive up twice and I wasn’t meeting my friends until later in the day. Thus, I got there at about 2:30 and basically had to park on the freeway.
I spent a few minutes in my car preparing.
And you can’t go into battle without lipgloss, right?
After applying lipstick and lipgloss, I checked to make sure I had my major coupon:
The 50% friends and family coupon for Adidas. And I was pretty sure everyone in the store would have one so I was scared.
After getting adequately prepared, I started my journey from the freeway to the store.
Fortunately, I made it across the parking lot and street without getting killed. Needless to say, I was happy when I saw this sign:
Now I realize it doesn’t look that crowded, but when I got inside, grabbed the 3 things I wanted and got in line, this is what I faced:
That was the line to check out. I was in the back of the store…the registers are in the front to the right of the Adidas sign on the wall.
And I waited in line for about 20 minutes to buy 3 things:
Two packs of socks and a hat. Boring and crazy right? I should have been playing supermarket sweep through that place, but I just didn’t have time! I only had time for necessities. The socks are for G and the hat’s for me. I love the inside of the hat.
About 20 minutes and $17 later, I was out of there and on the road up to Portland.
Good times and I won the battle!!!
What brand/shade is that lipstick? I want.
I’d have preferred drugs to makeup, to go into those stores.
Lipstick is Bare Essentials Ripe Fig, the gloss is Luster by Smashbox. Makeup is slightly cheaper than drugs.
You are VERY BRAVE to even attempt to get off at the Woodburn Outlet Exit during December. I’ve seen cars literally parked on the side of the freeway outside the outlets because there was no parking in the lot.
