I had a pretty busy weekend last weekend and it started out with me visiting my good friend, Lindsey, who just had shoulder surgery! You might remember her from my aqua jogging and Warrior Dash posts from way back when I was just a baby blogger. I’m hoping I’m now a toddler blogger…or at least a sleeping-through-the-night baby blogger.
So that was Lindsey back in June. And this was Lindsey last Friday:
She had major shoulder surgery and will be recovering at home until mid-December! Isn’t that crazy? Fortunately, she was doing pretty well when I saw her and it gave me an excuse to bake something!!
She made a special request for the S’mores Stuffed Brownies I made when we went camping in October. Lindsey, your wish is my command.
And this time I took pictures of the heavenly mixture after it was baked, cut and on the plate (with ice cream, of course).
All I can say is that it was good!
Fortunately for Lindsey, she did not have to rely on me for any caretaking because her wonderful mom came to town to help her out right after her surgery. Isn’t she nice? And Lindsey only had to promise to have another grandkid for her. The things you do to get a little help.
That’s Karen and she reads CTW! Hi Karen (I’m waving).
After a great visit with those two chicks on Friday, I spent the evening at home to store up my energy to hang out with some other friends on Saturday for the Oregon v. USC game. I know, I can’t believe I have that many friends either.
We went to Wayne and Moraya’s for a little food and some football. G is a big-time USC fan and they are crazy Duck fans. This always creates some awkward moments while watching the game. Wayne and Moraya have two girls and they love to play with their Aunt CTW. I really have to watch myself and try not to say something completely inappropriate around them. As you can imagine, this is difficult for me.
But these girls are cute and hilarious!
That’s Leia on the left and Bella on the right. Love their costumes.
Anyway, we’re watching the game and Leia wants to do my hair. Since I hadn’t washed my hair in three days I thought this was an excellent idea. She got out all her little hair-things and got to work.
Umm Leia…there are kind of a lot of bows on that side.
But the front’s not too bad. I hope the back looks all right…
Looks good to me!
I think we counted 42 or 46 hair clips in total. Not bad. Then guess what happened?
I created my own little Shaniqua!
And we learned a very important lesson…you can never have too many clips in your hair.
Leia wanted to try hairstyling again so I let her play with my greasy disgusting hair one more time. I think she really developed her skills.
From the front you can barely tell there’s anything in my hair. But the back…
is basically a disaster. Totally f*cking love it!
The best part of the night was watching USC beat Oregon!!!
