First thing Saturday morning, Tricia and I went to a cake tasting…apparently Tricia is as serious about cake as me. We left Clarkesville and headed for nearby Gainesville to Memorable Creations Cake Shop.
Tricia ordered 3 cakes for us to try: strawberry, french vanilla and pumpkin.
And it was so good. I’ve never had strawberry cake and this stuff was amazing!
I’m not a fan of pumpkin desserts, but the pumpkin cake tasted more like a spice cake! And it actually tasted really good.
I looked through Kristen’s (the baker) wedding cake photo album so I could get ideas for my second wedding…just in case. And Kristen had a wedding cake in her shop that day!!
I think this is beautiful. So simple. And the groom’s cake looked like this:
Obviously, the cake isn’t finished. Kristen said a boat would be on it too. Have I ever said that I love cake? I do. I really do.
Tricia ended up ordering a cake for her friend’s bridal shower and we forced Kristen to take our picture!
After eating a ton of cake (and icing), we left to head back to Clarkesville to attend a baby shower for Ms. Tricia. Because Tricia is very pregnant and I pretend I’m pregnant so I can eat more, we made a pit stop here:
That’s right, I can never eat enough.

The cake tasting for my wedding was my favorite part. And I didn’t even have a cake at my wedding. Still did the tasting though.
I hope you washed down all that cake with an Ice Dream and some waffle fries. That’s a lunch of champions right there. 🙂
You can never get enough cake! That’s been my absolute favorite part of planning my wedding…all of the cake tastings! Even though we’ve already picked out our cake, I’m not against trying other places lol.
Looks delicious! I want a rum cake…. just a cake soaked in booze. Italian style. I love the idea of a strawberry cake! What did you and your husband have??
I would’ve loved to have sampled all of those cakes; followed by some Chick Fillet!
